due to the track it cost me about $1400 more in maintenance then 2017. Then there was fuel. I spend about $1000 more on fuel Vs. 2017. Fuel prices where higher, & I drove about 5,000kms more. Keeping detailed records is a curse & a blessing. Not that any of you care, I was just bored. It will also be my 100,000km anniversary beginning - middle of February , so I can see how much it cost to own it for 100,000kms. That number will be freaky.

Wow, I just did the quick math for mine. The answer was way higher than it seems it should be for a mere 3,000 miles...

Fuck. No.

I was supposed to pay for this by quitting smoking. That is the number I least goddamn want to see.

I more less done for 2018 spending, except for one more tank of fuel. So I have a pretty close number.

$120 insurance since late August

$640 in gas, ~8 ,000 miles

$50 in oil changes (oil/filter, DIY) and top-up oil between changes

$110 for replacement parts after deer strike

$20 in used speakers

$4 00 for new coils, spark plugs, timing belt/water pump/tensioner pulley

$750 for the car itself (purchased in late August)

So... $2090 all-in, for four months of ownership and 8,000 miles driven. Only about $800 for fixed, ongoing costs, so extrapolating that, it should cost about $2400 per year if I average 24,000 miles per year, or right around 10 cents per mile.

Add about $1000 in annual maintenance/repair budget because old, high mileage car, and I’ll be at about 14 cents per mile including fuel. Not too bad if I do say so myself.

I did over 20 trackdays and autocrosses in 2018, I used 5 sets of tires, 3 sets of front brakes, 2 rear, 1 set of front rotors (I also replaced the rears, but they were the originals), and I had a clutch failure (the transmission and ac had issues but were fixed under the warranty and didn’t cost me anything).

So: about $4k in tires, $1500 in brakes, and $1500 in out of pocket repairs. Add in $2k for fuel and fluids (I have a short commute, so under 11k miles per year with over 2500 of those on track).

All in looks like my BRZ cost me under $1500 per month (including loan payments).   I paid it off this year (0.9% interest kept me from paying it off earlier) so cost of ownership should decrease next year (power train warranty will expire in October of 2019, but that shouldn’t be an issue) .

My plan is to keep with my BRZ until 2021 (I’m hoping the next gen BRZ is out by then with the rumored bigger motor, otherwise I’m running this one till it dies and buying a used Porsche Cayman S or 911 depending on the used market ).

I've probably spent close to $10,000 since June. Down payment, monthly payment, gas, insurance, winter wheels. It's been pretty pricey.

After winning so much in the markets this week, this would be just what I need for amusement.  More numbers I don’t want to see.

I put payments & insurance separate from everything else. That cost I know how much it will be.  E verything else I have a general idea, but not an exact number.

Only the Kia. But I can write them off and/or they are covered by my car allowance.

I was thinking of a tally of my automotive spending. I keep a very close eye on my money

I spent about $3692 on fuel alone this year. Getting 16mpg on average on premium gas is funny. Drove about 22k miles over the past year.

Hm... about 8,300 € including the cost of the car, insurance, fuel and a lap of the Nürburgring. I wanted to make a post in a week or two.

I did!

Just under £3000/€3300 or 3800 USD  including the cost of the car.

My 2015 Ducati cost quite a bit more on maintenance than my 2001 AMG. So about $800 and $50 respectively. Although to be fair I put about 5 times as many miles on the bike as the car and most of that cost was in tires. I think my 2006 R-class was somewhere in the middle of those two.
